With the first day of Spring just over a week away, Ewetopia is blossoming with freshly dyed yarns, and new summer cottons, rayons, bamboos and silks are beginning to trickle in with each new shipment. As for the Ewetopia Shop owner, I am still big and pregnant and am hoping that having the energy to get this newsletter written is my form of last minute “nesting”!

Due to the once near and now past due date many new patterns have been finally finished and published, including the busty and bendable knitted doll that sits atop our register at the shop, the pattern comes complete with a 3 piece costume pattern as well! Of course baby items were top of the list to finish up in the last few weeks, thus we have a new diaper soaker pattern and felted booties as well!

Starting in the spring there are many KIP days or “Knitting in Public”\days around the globe. Wednesday, March 25th at the La Crosse Public Library is the 3rd Annual gathering of kindred fiber enthusiasts! Last year they had the amazing co-author of the book Armenian Knitting, Joyce Williams. She brought in fantastic, near impossible looking garments of all sizes! This year Franklin Habit, a fiber comedian and author of the hysterical book “It Itches” will be speaking from 6:30-7:30pm with a book talk and signing! This extravaganza not to be missed by any avid knitter, spinner or crocheter in the area starts at 12pm with a knitting circle, demonstrations and a raffle! We are extremely sorry if you have come by the shop after 4pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays to find us closed! To save on my energy and the upcoming baby’s patience we have shortened our hours a bit, but please, if you need to come after 4pm on one of these days just let me know and I’ll happily stick around for you!
