Folk
Folk is a special collaboration between Wisconsin shepherds and mills. The Ewetopia team hand selects the fiber from Wisconsin flocks, sometimes spending days in the shearing barn to skirt and grade the wool from Targhee, Rambouillet and cross bred fine and medium wool sheep. After scouring in TX (the closest custom washing facility in the US!), the 600-700 lb bales of wool are brought to Crescent Woolen Mill in Two Rivers, WI for spinning. Woolen spun yarns are different from what we spin at Ewetopia Fiber Mill in that they are not combed, but instead maintain lightness through trapped air between the carded and twisted strands. This lovely yarn dyes vibrantly and deeply, and is perfect for garments and warm and cozy accessories.
280 yds/ approx. 3.5 oz (100 g)
5-6 sts = 1” on US #4-7 (3.5-4.5 mm)
Hand wash and lay flat to dry.
